Pinocchio Playing Cards

Centuries ago there lived “A king!” my little readers will say immediately. “No, children; you are mistaken. Once upon a time there was a piece of wood.”

That’s the beginning of one of the most famous children’s novel in history, written by Carlo Collodi (nom de plume of Carlo Lorenzini, born in Florence, on the 24th of November, 1826) and translated into 240 different languages.

The “Pinocchio Family”, a wide project realized with Passione Playing Cards LLC with the endorsement of the National Carlo Collodi Foundation, consists of:

Pinocchio Sapphire and Pinocchio Vermilion, 2 totally customized and different decks of playing cards printed with metallic inks on the faces and on the backs, and with foil on the tuck cases.

Collodi’s Pinocchio (Special Limited Edition), a luxury, double-foiled, book-like tuck case cointaining both the cards of Sapphire and of Vermilion.

Pinocchio’s Tales booklet, the perfect companion for the Pinocchio Playing Cards set, expanding the story of the wooden puppet with pages from the novel and wide images.

Gold “Zecchino” coins, which represents the gold pieces given by Fire Eater to Pinocchio, for his father Geppetto. These coins are contained in Pinocchio’s Pounch, a cotton small drawstring bag that holds the Zecchinos.

The kickstarter campaign has been succesfully funded within 48 hours from the launch. It is still online at this link that cointains further images and details about the project.
